Use this sequence in each room
Prepare the view
Use daylight or room lighting and clean the lens. Start with the normal 1× camera. A wider lens can help with the room overview; return to 1× and move closer for details. The app offers a camera light only when your phone and browser support it. Avoid filters and digital zoom.
Record one room at a time
Start at the doorway. Hold still, then turn slowly with overlapping views. Try clips of around 20–45 seconds, pausing for about three seconds at important items. These are practical starting points to test, not accuracy guarantees.
See around the clutter
Take another angle when items overlap. First record belongings as found. Obtain permission before moving them; keep private documents and people out of the frame where possible.
Add detail photographs
Use one photo to show the location of a mark, then a closer photo to show the detail. Record storage interiors, appliance labels and other details separately where accessible and within your agreed scope.
Review before you leave
Correct names and quantities, remove duplicates and add missing items. Check surfaces, doors, windows and fixtures yourself. Save the original recording and download a backup.
Which capture button should I use?
Live scan is a separate option under Video → Live scan & recording help. It suggests items while the camera is running and can keep a full silent clip when supported. For 0.5×, use the Camera app if the lens is not available in the live scan.
Uploads: up to 3 minutes / 100 MB per video; JPEG, PNG or WebP photos up to 20 MB. Some devices open a file chooser instead of a camera.
Recognition and its limits
Local recognition supports 39 household object types. A detailed photo scan checks five overlapping views. Review names and quantities, and add missing items.
Condition, cleanliness, safety and ownership need human review. Optional cloud photo review requires a separate upload notice and your consent. Exterior features, fittings, surfaces and meters may need manual entries.
Keep the original. Uploaded clips use up to 24 selected frames; live scans stop after 2 minutes or 40 views. Short, steady room clips are easier to review.
